A good source of Inspirational art.

Join me at the Discord! And "Single Shot Saturdays!"

Hey, Good News!

Over the past few months or so, I have been slowly building a base of like minded individuals and players through out the world of social media. And to help make the connection easier, I have decided to open up and run my very own Discord Server. Yes, everyone and their dog has their own discord server now days. But I still wanted to have mine. Big thing for me is it allows me to interact with other players while I am away at regular interval work trips.

So I figured its time to widen the group a bit, and invite people to interact / announce games / Looking for Groups and post what ever gaming ideas they may have over on the discord. So feel free to join at Jolly's RPG Server

The games I am focusing on are: (these are all systems that I play)

  • GURPS.
  • Anything 2D20.
  • Anything Free League Publishing.
  • Anything Savage Worlds.
  • Anything Fantasy Flight Games.
  • Advanced Fighting Fantasy.
  • And maybe anything else, if you ask nice..

So if you are a person who likes to play roleplaying games on Virtual Tabletop, then feel free to drop by, say hello, roll some dice. Make yourself at home at the Jolly Discord and maybe make a few new friends along the way.

Also, I am super excited to announce a pet project, I am calling Single Shot Saturday. Where I host various one shot adventures of the various Role-playing games that I play. But with a twist.. I will choose the setting, and I will create the characters. And my players will choose why they are together, and what they want to do. And the rest.. will be made up as we go along! With no prep, other then our imaginations! Total improvisation, that should be a blast!

My first Single Shot Saturday is going to be on May 19th. Which I will broadcast live on twitch! Game to be announced next week when I open it up to players.

So I Hope to be seeing you at the Discord!

The 2D20 Conan Character Challenge! Wonder Woman

I was never a big Wonder Woman fan..  Even growing up, her comic book character never really did anything for me. Invisible Jet and all!!

Then, suddenly the movie comes out. Even with the very beautiful and talented Gal Gadot playing the role, I was not really all that hyped to see the movie. But I went.. and my view changed.. I fell in love with the this new revision of the character. In fact, I think its the only good one they did.. (Thats a whole nother blog sometime)

But the scene, where she jumps out of the trenches, charges into no mans land, and the German MGs open up on her.. you now the scene. And she is leaning into her shield deflecting the incoming rounds... You know what scene this is.... the best scene, EVER!!!!

This scene, turned me into a happy lets watch the movie type of guy, to HOLY Frack, they made me like a DC HERO!!! and its Wonder Woman Type of Guy!

Anyways, then today I see this on pinterest, and I heard of a Wonder Woman\Conan crossover comic book series before. But it didnt strike me till I saw this image. I really like it, so much in fact, I would like to see a character conversion of her as a Character of Renown in a 2D20 game.

So I want to challenge any of you 2d20 creative experts that are out there. Can some one stat out a Gal Gadot Wonder Woman for Conan 2D20? If so, I wanna see it! Even if its not remotely close to a REH pure vision of Conan and his world.

A 2D20 Amazonian Wonder Woman!

And now I need to find where I can ge the E Comic versions so I can start reading it!

Bring it! By Crom!

Dog Brothers and Sword Sisters! Lend me your Swords!

Sons and Daughters of Hyborea! Sell swords and cut throats!

Looking to round out our group of players for 2D20 Conan, Adventures in an  Age Undreamed of.

Currently we have a regular group of 5 players, with an average turn out of 4 players a session.
The schedule is a little off due to my work. My schedule is based on a 6 week cycle. Each game is roughly 3-4 hours long. Held on a Saturday night.

Week 1: Game
Week 2: Off
Week 3: Game
Week 4: Off
Week 5: Off
Week 6: Off
Return to Week 1.

Players MUST be able to use discord, and have PTT mics (Headphone and mic is preferred)
My game will be run via Fantasy Grounds. I have the ultimate version so any players will only need the DEMO version to play.

In our game, we currently have a group who are working to recover ancient relics. We have,
Relic Hunter
Merc Captain
Assassin
Priest
and an Sorcerer (our part time player due to real life)

I am hoping to fill out the rosters with a few other archetypes. But I am looking for people who want to role play and tell a story with us, and not just randomly burn down taverns (or whole cities) And to help me believe a person is serious about roleplaying. I am asking for people who want to join to create and make their own character, with a short "why my character wants to join the team" You know, Make it kinda fun.. lol

I know this may cut down on people wanting to join, but if a person does want to join, well they will be the type of person (and player character) we are looking for.

My games are graphic, and do contain adult subject matter, but I do my best to keep everything above board.

So if anyone is interested, please go to my discord server and submit your character at the "Looking for Games" chat room.

If you want to find out a little about me, or see some of my games and streams, check out my Youtube Channel here.

Thanks

Jolly: Generic Systems

Just a thought...

But I find it funny, that some GMs talk high praise about playing generic universal style RPGs,  but in the same breath say they cant play it or could enjoy them more if they have pre made adventure settings book.

I thought the main thing about playing generic systems was a person can play anything they wanted too their own way? For example; GURPS. My all time favorite RPG game system. And even to this day, is still the king of Generic Systems in my own personal view.

But this made me wonder,

Who out there writes their own adventures for their weekly regular games?
Who out there depends on having pre made adventure modules?

Me, I write all my own games. Sometimes, I do not even bother to pre make them, and just make them up on the fly as I am playing with the group that particular night.
