The JollyGM Basic Dungeon Sets: Now Available on DTRPG

Hi everyone,

I got some exciting news to share! For many years I have been creating my own maps for my games that I run. The biggest problem for has been that many of the games that I run, are not usually not considered mainstream.

Most maps that you find online, usually cater to those rpgs. Leaving me having to find something that I can shoe horn into my settings. So I started to try and make my own.

Just recently, I have decided to take the plunge and start sharing the maps I make with the millions of other members of the tabletop RPG community, which I am so proud to be a part of.

So check out my Drive Through RPG store page here!

Now, I as far from being a professional map maker as one can be, but I make these maps to the standard that I would use at my own tables. Designed to be simple, easy to use, somewhat geomorphic and with the ability to be thrown quickly into your virtual tabletop software of choice. (Fantasy Grounds, Foundry, Astral and Tabletop Simulator)

So with out further delay, I would love to introduce to you The Jolly GM Basic Zoned Dungeon Tile Set. Seeing I try and play games that use zones more so then grids, I made this tileset for those games specifically. Seeing I play a lot of Conan, having some basic map tiles on hand is a good thing!

With tile set 1, you get 5 standard dungeon tiles. Simple easy designs, and affordable. You can put these maps together to make larger dungeons, or simply use them as individual set pieces.

Eventually, I am going to be adding to these zone tiles. Lighting and LOS for any of those people who use my maps in Fantasy Grounds and Foundry, hopefully for a buck a map, people will like what they see and get.

I got more battlemaps in the pipeline. Soon my tactical battlemaps will be available!

Here is a small taste of what is to come. The JollyGM Tactical Battlemaps

Twilight 2000 and Hex Kit. A match made in Heaven?

I have taken some steps towards using Hexkit as a way of making fun and fast battlemaps for use in my upcoming Twilight 2000 game.

I think it will work out ok.. I just need to really take the time to make one, it has almost all the resources it needs to do what I want it to do. I just need to find some art that has less of a fantasy vibe to it. But I think it will work. And its fast too.. 10 minutes and I had a nice 24 by 24 map made.

The lighter colors are elevated positions, while the green is of course, lower. We got some bogs and marsh in there. With the Dark Green trees being foliage and lighter green mixed trees as Forests. I just need to add a few LOS blocking items, and I should be all set I think.

This map is called Bridge Crossing. The players are trying to get back to friendly lines, and they need to cross this river to do it.

Conan Exiles, Fantasy Grounds Unity, and Map Making!

Hey all..

I few years back, I posted a blog about using the recently released Conan Exiles computer game to help me create fun and exciting battlemaps for the use with the Conan RPG when playing on a Virtual Tabletop. And it worked out pretty good, if you were to ask me.

Now, since Fantasy Grounds had released its newer Unity version, which allows you to draw in LOS on maps. I decided to try it again and see how the LOS tool works.

In short, I am very happy with the way this now looks!

Its certainly something to explore if you have the chance. And it is something you can do with any setting really, find a computer game that fits the theme of you adventure, and starting taking pictures!

So, You wanna make Battle Maps for 2D20 Systems?

Ok, we all know that the 2D20 game system uses an abstracted mechanic called zones, and if you were apart of the Kickstarter, you got cool zone maps!

So, what if you have a cool idea, but you can not find a cool map to play your epic battles on?

Well, if you happen to own Conan: Exiles (like I do) and play 2D20 Conan, then you are in luck.

Open up your Exiles, and enter the admin mode.. make yourself invisible, turn on the Fly option and look for cool screen shot materials.

After a few minutes, I had a few great screen shots for my adventures, and then a few minutes later (with the use of Gimp) I had what I think is a pretty cool battle map for Conan.

Zones added!

Now this can work with any 3D rendered game, just find an area that fits the need and Zone it up!!

Here are a few more!

Breaking Out the Old CC3

Hi all

Its been awhile since I felt inspired enough to make my own map for one of my games. So for kicks, I decided to make a small tomb in where one of my adventures are going to take place.

Don't worry, its not really a spoiler for those who play in my games, but I just want to share, seeing it is the first one I made in well over a year. Its amazing how much stuff there is to CC3.

Now, I just need to figure out how to fill in the floor section of the offshoot tunnel on the bottom left corner.

Feel free to use if anyone needs a tomb. :)

BattleStar Galactica Battle Map

Well, I had CC3 now for awhile, but its only lately am I really starting to do anything with it.

So, for kicks I decided to do a battle map of a flight deck, BSG theme. If anyone wants to use it, feel free. Its simple, plain and rather boring. But I am proud of it.

There is also one with out the vipers.
